The new Mitsubishi Lancer is likely to be launched in India in 2009. The car will share the famed Lancer Evolution's striking looks and sharp handling to provide an attractive alternative to the Honda Civic and upcoming Toyota Corolla.

It's likely to have a 1.8 liter, 16 valve, petrol engine with variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust valves, which is mated either to a s-speed manual or 6-speed CVT automatic transmission. A 2.0 liter 16 valve turbo diesel with a 6-speed manual transmission may also be available. Let's just hope that the new Lancer shares not only some of its looks but also a little of the WRC (World Rally Championsip) bred driving dynamics as well.

The absolutely wild looking 'GT by Citroen' concept is the result of an unusual partnership between Citroen and Polyphony - creators of the Sony Playstation driving simulation game, GTS. This is perhaps one of the few times a car's gone from the virtual world to the show floor. In the game, the car features an environmentally friendly electric drivetrain powered by a fuel cell - demonstrating that eco friendly needn't mean uninteresting.

This concept, which looks more like a racing catamaran than a race car, even had Citroen World Rally champion Sebastian Loeb completely taken by its dramatic shape - he was at the show taking pictures of the car on his cell phone.
