MERe'S NEW E-CLASS ARRIVES IN 2009, AND should be very, very clean. Merc's Bluetec technology, squirts urea (basically the toxins found in your pee) in exhaust to cut NOx emissions dramatically, should be available its diesels.

The petrol engines will gradually get more and more of the technology first seen in the F700 concept car at Frankfurt last though the full Diesotto technology probably won't appear unt next generation S-class. However, a petrol-electric hybrid E4 should join the line-up in 20ro.

Also coming in 20ro is the E300 Bluetec hybrid. Combining diesel and hybrid technology the electric E will apparently emit I34g/km, a figure more commonly associated with small hatch Following on from the latest C-class, the E will adopt more styling inside and out. It's Mercedes' attempt to remind us ofth impregnability of the I980s and early I990S Mercs.
