Michelin to supply Energy XM1 tyre

Tyre manufacturer Michelin has announced a deal with Honda to supply its Energy XM1 tyre for the new Honda City The tyre, which is designed for mid-size cars, is built for low noise levels and low fuel consldmption in addition to providing optimal grip in all driving conditions. The Energy XM1 is made using the Green X silica-based compound which reduces rolling resistance, thereby reducing fuel consumption. Also, this compound is replacing Carbon Black, a fossil fuel derivative, which makes the XM 1 more environment friendly. By striking this deal, Michelin has increased its supply to Honda, to whom it has already been supplying tyres for the Civic.
