MITSUBISHI REVEALED THE FIRST SKETCHES OF ITS GLOBAL SMALL CAR, A
hatchback that will be the cheapest car in its international range in 2012, at the inauguration of its 200,000 cars per annum factory in Thailand. India is among the target markets. This will be a volume segment contender, probably lining up against hatches like the Swift, Brio etc.
Details are sketchy at this point but 1.0- and 1.2-litre engines are being talked about and as of now, the car is set to be exported out of Thailand. We expect Mitsubishi to launch this car in late 2012 in India and expect a corresponding manufacturing or assembly announcement by mid-20l2. Note the missing 'jet fighter' grille; it's an interesting break from the brand's current styling ethos.
BMW Xl Christmas gift The BMW Xl SUV is scheduled to be launched on December 23. The Xl is an SUV that is even smaller than the X3. BMW says that the SUV will be its cheapest model on sale in the country. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine with l77PS and 350Nm that should give it sprightly performance. Expect a price tag.
