The Ducati 1198 and 1198S made lfieir debut in the EICMA Show at Milan
in Italy. The bikes look exactly like the 1098 but are powered by a totally new L-twin 1198cc engine producing a peak power of noPS. These new superbikes come with data acquisition systems integrated as standard equipment. Ducati made the 1198 with the aim of making a lTJore powerful, lighter and safer superbike.

Built on the trellis frame,the bike boasts an L-twin l098cc powerhouse with a peak power of lSSPS. The Streetfighter, won the "Most beautiful bike" poll at the show. Ducati upgraded the 1098S and 1098R from their superbike range by equipping the two bikes with competition level traction control system. To celebrate Troy Bayliss' Third Superbike World Championship, the Italian maker also launched the 1098R Troy Bayliss Limited Edition in special livery.
