I could not would not (and should not) think of another story-style article for the latest upgrade to the Pulsar that Bajaj has announced. So I didn't. Still, to give you some background, the Pulsar 150 was the motorcycle that followed the CBZ into the market chronologically, but it absolutely took off and never looked back. It has been the runaway 150cc segment leader since launch and still notches up more sales than the competition combined most of the time.

Exasperated as that sounds, far from it. Annual upgrades should happen to all motorcycles - and meaningful upgrades at that. Sticker-bazi and paint-bazi do not apply. Bajaj has more or less announced Pulsar upgrades around September every year, choosing a strategic delay for 2006. So, what is it? Yes, this is the upgraded new Pulsar 150.

In a word? Lots. Visually. the 150 is again identical to the 180, except for the silver painted powertrain on the smaller one. In darker colours, the 150 looks fresh and striking. The blue shade in the pics looks deep and glossy and we all thought it net. the P150 gets Walker's mask (enthusiasts are calling this generation of Pulsars Phantoms because of the black surround in the headlamp unit). LED tail lamps, the digital instruments, backlit and contactless switches, ugly brown engine kill switch, sharper looking pillion peg subframe, splash guard and the slinky rear panel and the faux vented side panels. The lower fairing mounting position makes the bike look sleeker, more purposeful and very mean. Fit-finish levels are quite high as usual as well. And then there are the powertrain mods.
