Lack of viable upgrades to the Pulsar 150 calls for Bajaj to take a sprint in order to catch up with the competition
WITH NO SERIOUS LAUNCHES FOR Bajaj Auto has deflfinitely been a silent observer of the Indian market this year. Like other manufacturers, they too have been stunned by the sudden turnaround that Yamaha has made in the 150cc segment. But in true Bajaj style, the second largest Indian two wheeler maker will soon respond to the growing competition with a value for money offering.

The solution they have come up with is the XCD Sprint. The bike's design will be based on the concept that Bajaj displayed at the Auto Expo earlier this year. However, it won't use the same 150CC Pulsar mill that one might have expected. Instead, a bored out version of the 125CC DTS-Si engine will do duty in the new bike with a power output in the range of 14¬16PS. This motorcycle will be the third variant on the XCD platform out of the four that Bajaj promised us at the start. Expect the bike to hit showrooms by end,to tackle the competition. The XCD Sprint will be followed by the Pulsar 200 FI and the 200 DTS-FI facelift. Bajaj is also said to be working. Is the Byk coming back?
