There's more news on the new Jaguar XFR. A highly modified version producing 600 bhp (with slight alteration to the supercharger and a remapped ECU), large rear wing and front diffusers set a speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats just days before heading to Detroit. It was recorded to be doing 226 mph or 363 kph, up from Jaguar's previous record of 217.1 mph or 3494 kph by the XJ220. Tuned by Paul Gentilozzi of Rocketsports Racing who incidentally also tuned XKRs for the TransAm series, he also drove the car on the famous salt flats to set the record. Incidentally, is also the 60th anniversary of that famous speed record set by the XK 120.
