The XCD-135 DTS-Si is the third installment in Bajaj's XCD line. The XCD range from Bajaj that until now consisted of 100 and 125cc models, basically targets the commuter bike segment, and so far we have not been particularly impressed by either of the bikes from this range. So does the additional 1 Dee in the new XCD-l 35 DTS-Si make a difference? let's find out.

The XCD 135 essentially has a conventional design, but what catches the eye is the XCD 135's all jazzed up ornamentation. Up front, it is basically a large trapezoidal clear lens head lamp that smoothly sweeps back and blends into the short, translucent black visor. Two parking lamps rest on the upper corners of the head lamp and this arrangement looks quite interesting.

The XCD 135 has some beautiful tank extensions or shrouds that help in adding bulk to its small 5.0-litre fuel tank. The shrouds also have mesh-cov¬ered vents on them, which lend a sporty touch. The XCD 125 has an lED taillamp, but we have always felt that this is the ugliest part of the bike. With the XCD 135, fortunately this is not the case. The lED tailamp on the XCD 135 with inbuilt reflectors looks very striking, especially when lit. like in the XCD 125, the engine, gearbox and alloys on the XCD 135 have a matte black finish, which is very much the fad today.
