Toyota is planning to go head on against the ever popular Honda City with the Yaris sedan. It bears the look of a scaled down Corolla and will have the SX4, the FIAT Linea and the Honda City in its sight. The interiors are very well put together using high quality materials giving it a feel of a much bigger car. The seating position is high, like the SX4, with good visibility for the driver -an advantage for city commutes. The engines available in South-East Asia include 86bhp 1.3-litre and 106bhp 1.5-litre VVTi petrol mills and an 89bhp 1.4-litre D4-D diesel motor. It is not a very sporty car, the emphasis being more on making it effortless to drive. All the controls including the steering are extremely light but precise nonetheless. ow that Toyota has a well established dealer network in place, they want to increase their share in the Indian market, and we're sure they'll accomplish the feat with their new launches.
