Audi E1

AUDI has planned a new small car called the E1 due to hit the market in 2011. The new E1 will be positioned below the A1 which is due next year. The E1 will share its platform with the VW Up! also due in 2010. The E1 will be the first car from the company to bear the 'E' tag. Audi has confirmed that the E1 will be followed by a whole range of E-badged cars. Hybrid versions of the E1 and the A 1 are also slated for launch soon after the regular models hit the market. The powerplant will be a 600cc two-cylinder turbocharged unit. Audi is also considering a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol. The E1 will be built at VW's plant in Bratislava, Slovakia alongside the Up.
