Yet another company falls for the charms of alternate fuels in racing. Volkswagen will field this GT24 CNG Scirocco in this year's Nurburgring 24 hour race. The 2-litre turbocharged engine produces over 300 bhp and 355 kgm of torque, while reducing emissions by 25 per cent. This means it has a tough job at hand as it takes on the Subaru Impreza WRX STi in the 2.0-litre category. And if the cylinder blows up (in the face of VW), three petrol powered Sciroccos will continue to keep the VW flag flying. But if it turns out to be reliable, will it gain some yellow and feature in the sequel to Taxi? We aren't ruling that out just yet..
