Supercharged Engine

Somewhat similar to a turbocharged engine, a supercharged engine uses a turbine system to force the air-fuel mixture into the cylinder heads under pressure, thereby triggering a bigger explosion to produce more power. However, the latter's turbine system gets powered via a series of belts or chains from the crankshaft unlike the turbocharged engine where the turbines are powered by exhaust gases.
