Skoda has face lifted the Octavia. As in, the car we know as the Laura. And yes, the facelift will also corne to India, most probably by the middle of next year. What's changed? Well, on the bodysides, not much. The front-end has a more, urn, upmarket look with the new headlamps, wider grille and a one piece bumper. At the rear, the changes are almost negligible, but you will notice the new tail light lenses. Inside too, there are trim upgrades, a redesigned centre console and steerig wheel.

Under the hood, in Europe, there is a new 121PS 1.4-litre TSI, and the turbo 104 and 1.8 litre petrols can be had with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. We're not particularly convinced though that the new front-end is an actual step forward and would have preferred a look based closer to the cur¬rent Laura, maybe taking inspiration from the new Superb.
