Team Red Rooster Racing now rules the roost. Paying second fiddle to NK Racing in round four, the Bangalore based team was right on the money at the fifth and sixth rounds in Chennai. Gaurav Dalal put in a consistent performance, winning the premier class championship while Sarosh Hataria 'claimed the second spot. Akhil Khushlani meanwhile scored 28 points in the sixth round to claim a third overall in the championship, dashing NK Racing driver Saahil Shelar's hopes.

In the LGB Swift class, Saran Vikram had all but sealed the championship in the fifth round. Alas, he was stripped of all his championship points in the Formula Swift category, following a pileup post the warm-up lap of the final race of the season.

Team TVS Girling drivers Karthik Shankar and Vishnu Prasad were victims of the crash and unable to start the race. To darken the gloom further, Saran forfeited a premier class drive with Team NK Racing earlier this year.

Siblings Sudanand and Prithveen Rajan of Wallace Sports took the honours in the Hyundai Endurance Class, finishing ahead of Rams Racing drivers Karthik Shankar and S Narendran.

Feeling the heat, Team NK Racing brought in Rayomand Banajee as third driver to garner crucial championship points. Taking pole by being nearly half a second clear of his team-mate was Gaurav Dalal. After dominating the last two races, Aditya Patel struggled with his car and could only manage fourth place.

Gaurav Dalal made most of his pole position and immediately opened a gap to Sarosh Hataria. Halfway into the race alas, the NK Racing drivers took each other out. From there on winning was only a mere formality for Dalal. Team Amaron driver Shankar Narayan finished in third place but because of a jump start at the start of the race, C Rajaram inherited third from him. In the second race, Rayomand Banajee started from pole, with the two RRR cars behind him despite his being nearly two seconds off the pace. On lap two, Dalal had a moment and dropped back a few places. Saahil meanwhile was on a charge and was back in the top five after both Aditya Patel and Rayo backed off to let him through. Sarosh took no prisoners thereafter while Gaurav Dalal was also up to second place. Putting aside

Rooster lays down the law opening race, Amaron driver Shankar Narayan took third place. Though Sarosh won the race, Dalal ensured that his second place finish got him closer to the championship.

During the first race, Gaurav set off all guns blazing from the first lap, moving into the lead from fourth position in the opening lap itself, relegating Sarosh to second place. Meanwhile Akhil Khushlani moved into third place by passing Rayomand Banajee. In the penultimate lap, a broken driveshaft forced Gaurav out of the race. Sarosh claimed a win followed by Akhil and Rayomand.

Khushlani repeated his performance in race two, moving up the grid and challenging Sarosh. Akhil soon went past Sa rosh, who played it safe and settled for a second place behind Akhil. Anand Prasad of Prime Racing finished third.
