Recentlly I had a brief holiday at home where my sole means of moving around was our trusty Hyundai Santro. I admit committing blunders during my stint with the car, really stupid ones at that, includŽing leaving the car unlocked or leaving the lights on when I remembered to lock the car. I also kept searching for stereo controls on the steering wheel repeatedly. The reason behind this confession is that I've been using the DZire for the last couple of months and the small convenient features inside the cabin have kept me pampered and never seemed so obvious till I stepped inside another car. The cabin light doesn't go off for long enough to remind you to lock the car. There's a buzzer that starts beeping when I take out the key without turning off the lights while the steering mounted controls for the stereo keep my hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

I know they might have made me lazy, but then they surely would have made life a lot simpler for numerous DZire owners who've just graduated from a small car. It took a puncture in the middle of nowhere for me to discover that the DZire had no tools nor jack in dickey. How I got it fixed is another story, so getting a new set is top priority when the DZire goes for a service soon. The DZire has been driven mostly in the city this month and this reflects in the lowly average figure of 11.12kmpl I got from it this month. I guess this has a bit to do with my driving style too as I had mostly been using the 2nd and 3rd gears in the city. Better late than never, I've taken to the torquey nature of the mill so it's a gear higher for me most of the time now. Hope it reflects in the figures next month, will keep you posted.
