The naked ER-6n and its faired sibling, the ER-6f get a sharp makeover for next year. The bikes receive harder-edged styling updates aimed at broadening their appeal in addition to new instrumentation and mildly tweaked engines for more consistent low and midrange power delivery.
The ER-6F's restyled bodywork and top fairing are clearly inspired by the sporty Ninja models. Backed by a taller fuel tank, they lend the bike more angular and aggressive looks as compared to the curvy lines of the original.

A revised frame, swingarm and suspension are said to transmit less engine vibration and give the bike lighter handling. The similarly reworked ER-6n str9f1gly resembles the KTM 690 Superduke. Engine revisions, tweaks to fuel injection and mapping are designed to improve the bike's revving character.
The ER-6f is sold as the Ninja 6soR in US. The 6soR also gets major changes like the 6f and looks similar apart from the absence of the grabrail.
