HONDA HAS LAUNCHED the Hornet 900's replacement. The CB1000R has got the '07 Fireblade's 998cc inline four-cylinder motor but with lOmm smaller fuel-injector bodies, at36mm.

lt will be tuned for lower horsepower, approximately 120 130bhp, but better low-down torque which will make it more rideable in the real world. However, the 'R' instead of the 'F' in the name suggests a more edgy bike than the Hornet.

The segment worldwide is crowded, with a model from all major motorcycle manufacturers and even smaller ones like Moto Morini and Bimota. However, there is a real possibility of only the Yamaha MT-01 making it to India. We hope that HMSI grabs the opportunity and gives us the CBWOOR under their import programme!
