IF you are one of those thinking of buying a Beetle considering it should come cheap, forget it! AUTO BILD INDIA has exclusive information that the little icon will be launched as you read this but here's a low down in advance.
The Beetle which is a 2-door, four seater coupe will sell at a price of an astonishing Rs 19 lakh ex-showroom Delhi! For this price you will get the fully loaded hardtop version with a 2.0-litre petrol engine which will be the only option in India. The engine produces 116bhp and is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Safety features will include ABS and airbags for the front passengers.
However, Volkswagen will not be bringing in the cabrio version which is a real charmer. Still thinking of buy¬ing one? Pop down at your nearest Volkswagen dealer and slap down Rs 21akh as booking amount and expect to get delivery of your Bug in January 2010.
